The Joys of Hunting!!!

I On Dec 6, Josiah, my cousin Andrew headed up to Juniata county to go hunting!!  We stopped in at Mel's for supper and had a great time (even if it was short) with them!!  We continued on up and arrived at bed time!!  

   We got an early start but I didn't have any luck!!!  Here is a picture of what I looked at most of the day!

    I still (like a good hunter) enjoyed my day in the woods!!

Sunday was fun as well as edifying!  It started snowing early in the afternoon!!  Josiah and decided to leave for Washington county around 4:30 thinking that we would then have less problem with the slippery roads!!  That's what happened too!!   We got out to our Uncle Gerald's place around 9!  

   The next morning I shot a nice sized doe at 7:10 in the morning!!  (That's real hunting!!!). 

Josiah's is all the way to the right!!  Mine is the third one in from the left!!

The rest you will just need to wait to hear till we get back!!

It's so good to be home!!!

Thank you all for your prayers when we were in Mexico and on the road!!!  We were very blessed to be there and get to know Many of the church families!!!  

    For the folks in Mexico, please don't be offended when I say that Lancaster County is still home!!!! I do love Mexico but I know that God has me here for a purpose and till He calls me elsewhere this is where I will stay!!!  Don't worry, I'll be back down to see you all sometime!!!

Life in Mexico!!

We are staying very busy down here!!  I was hoping to have time to do nothing.  But then again, knowing the Slabaughs, something would happen if there is nothing else to do!!!  

  Like playing volleyball in the rain.....

We didn't play just real long but it was funny!!!

The church down here gave us schedule for meals at their places so it almost every day we go to one place for lunch and another for supper!!!!   We almost don't eat breakfast because we get so much other food in the next two meals!!  Yes you may laugh if you want to!!!  :)

    Our stay here is almost over!!  :( but I am looking forward to getting home!!

Program #2

Thank you all for praying for us!!  Our second program went very well.  There was a good turnout plus most, if not all, of the church people!!  Afterwards, we went to Reynold Reimers for supper and stayed there visiting and laughing till 12:30!!!

Our first program!!

Thank you all for praying for us!!! Our program last night was great, there were many open faces in the crowd and afterward we got many positive responses of being blessed!  Many people went home with a CD or two!!!
  On a humorous note, on the way home last night, it was about an hour and a half drive, we were almost home and we saw a jack rabbit ahead on the dirt road and dad took off after it.  It looked so funny to see this big rabbit running as fast as it could!!!

I will try post some pics in another post!!

Mexico Trip

   We are currently planning to leave for Mexico on Sept. 5th. and returning on the 19th.  We are going down as a family for the Fellowship meetings and then will be singing in several churches in the area throughout our remaining time down there.

Meet My Family!!

Backpacking in ANF!!

Last weekend I went backpacking with two of my cousins, Andrew and Kelvin Ranck!

   Thurs. we drove up to Allegheny National Forest in Forest County and headed out into the woods.  We hiked about 5 miles and stopped for the night.  We camped on a huge rock that had two trees and a bunch of other plants growing on it!  For supper we had pizza (made from scratch)!!!  It was delicious!!!!

   The next morning we had pancakes for breakfast, pack up our stuff and headed out.  We hiked about 7 miles through some very beautiful forests!  We did not see a lot of wild life but it was still great being out in God's creation!!  That night we camp in a marsh, on a high spot, with beaver evidence all around us!  The next day we hike about 6 miles and camped beside a neat little mountain stream!  Supper was soup and pan brownies, which had every night for dessert.
    The next day was Sunday so we had extra TAG (time alone with God) time.  It was really great sitting under the trees and beside the little stream, it was so beautiful.  I always feel so much closer to God when I am out in His Creation.  We than packed up took some pics and headed out.  We hiked about a mile before got back on the trail.  Along the trail we saw a bunch of rock cliffs that were 50-60 feet high. The went between two of them that were 20-30 feet high.  Really Cool!!!   Another mile or so brought us out of the woods and we headed home.   Thank God for safety and a great trip!
